Why Southwold? …….
Southwold is a charming English seaside town, which mixes the traditional with the contemporary.
Traditional, because you’ll find vestiges of an old fashioned “1950’s” bucket and spade holiday. A promenade, leading to a recently refurbished pier, sand castles, Punch & Judy and crabbing down at the harbour.
At the same time the high street boasts a mixture of familiar brands, Co-Op, Tesco, White Stuff, Joules, Crew and Jack Wills sitting shoulder to shoulder with the local butcher, baker, greengrocer and delicatessens, as well as restaurants, cafes and some lovely pubs.
For the more active there are extensive walks and opportunities for keen cyclists, as well as sailing and boat trips.
- Golf Course
- Tennis Courts
- Brewery Tours (renown Adnams Brewery)
- Lighthouse
- A lovely 15th Century Church (considered to be one of Suffolk’s finest)
- Summer Theatre
- Cinema
- Amusement Arcade
So, whatever your age and whether you’re looking for somewhere quiet to read a book or to paint, or something more exciting and demanding, Southwold has something for everyone.
